My favorite song on the album. The "gentleman caller" just wants to impress his love affection. She also fears him as she knows that relationships eventually fade. He wants to feel good and is envious of those that have the sort of relationship that he craves. Even though he sees it falling apart, inside he believes that he can mend it into what he has envisioned. He is sick being hurt, but he doesn't regret it as it makes him stronger "you know you made my heart real strong. even if you made my head real thin" Now that he is stronger, he wants her to see that in him..."i've got a brand new set of wings" One of my favorite lines: "And I don't want to fall apart this time,so won't you please invite me in? OHHHH...." |
