This song is about many things I think it says alot about womens issues and about the civil rights movemnt of the 60's. This songs shows hope for the normal guy living in modern america, and doesnt give into corprate company meetings with big wigs and head honchos. Billie Joe is not afraid to say what he thinks in this song even if it is a little riska. More songs should be this honest about the world. I think this song really shows a sing of acheiving the goal of world peace and ending world hunger, miss america should have done a cameo on this track. |

This is one of my fav songs on Gold, I can really relate to the lyrics of this song having just been through a similar situation with a girl. I think it's about how he let this girl get away from him, and now it's too late to get her back now that she has kids. He lost his love becuase he didn't tell her how he felt, but he still has the memories and still holds on to the idea of getting her back someday, somehow. |

Here's what was in Rolling Stone, Q: What is Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" about? My friend says it's some woman muse, but I think he's singing to his penis. A: "That's Great!" says a laughing Bernie Taupin, the song's lyricist. "But I wouldn't belittle myself so." Your friend is closer to the truth, although Taupin says the song wasn't about any one woman. "We came to california in the fall of 1970, and sunshine radiated from the populace," he says. "I was trying to capture the spirit of that time, encapsulated by the women we met. They were free spirits, sexy in hip-huggers and lacy blouses, and very ethereal, the way they moved. So different from what I'd been used to in England. And they all wanted to sew patches on our jeans. They'd mother you and sleep with you - it was the perfect Oedipal complex." Why "tiny," then? They were all petite and lithe. And 'Tiny Dancer' sounds better than 'Small Dancer' or 'Little Dancer' |

This song is about, 'the ship is going down' and lets all have a good time on our way down. I mean 'Philosophy’s a liar when Your home is your headstone' says it all it's about releazing that one day we're all going to die and we only get so little time while we're here. I think it's about fuck all the pre madonnas and goodie goodies trying to look good and make everything last and stay the same forever, it's about likeing who you are and make the most of what you can on the ride down. |
