Mag-fucking-nificent song! Incredible lyrics, incredible delivery, and a break-down (mosh) part that no self-respecting fan can ever forget. After I heard this song for the first time, it almost felt as if Jamey himself beat the sam-hell outta me. |

I agree with System of afi Down. Does cursing excite you, glenzero? Does a singer need to curse to write a good song as far as you're concerned? By the way, read the lyrics from Lower It..."So walk right in and destroy the fucking place". Do your homework instead of pretending you know what you're talking about. |

Uhhhh...actually....Jade was never on the first two AFI albums. He was in Redemption 87 at the time. He didn't join the band until Black Sails. |

Ermmmm, Thrice Element, Jade wasn't on the first two albums. It wasn't until Black Sails did he join the band. Either way, I think Jade's solo fits greatly in the song, let alone my mentioning that Jade happens to be a damn good guitar soloist and should do it more often. But anyway, Jade never recorded on the first two albums, he was in Redemption 87 at that time. |

Correction: "Can you see the changing of the winds?
Can you see the stillness in the air?" is actually "Can you sense the changing of the winds? Can you sense the stillness in the air?" |

I may be wrong, but I thought that the correct lyrics was "My life is a dark realm, one....big....dark....realm" in reference to Beetlejuice when Wynona Rider's character is attempting to write a suicide note in the movie and keeps trashing them after the first sentence because she thinks it sucks. In that movie as she is writing, you hear her voice-over as if shes saying it in her head, she says "My life is a dark realm....one....big....dark.....realm". It may be a HUGE coincidence, or I might be a complete retard. Watch Beetlejuice. You decide. |

I'm posting this here because this is obviously the most reviewed song, but, this really has nothing to do with morningstar even though in my opinion it is one of AFI's most "stray-away-from-the-norm" songs...simply amazing, but back to my point. Does anyone find it the slightest bit humerous that they advertise a Kwanzaa Ceremonial Music CD along with everything else that is AFI? Sorry to stray from the subject at hand, just thought that the individuals oblivious to that might find it as funny as I did. |

Ok, I did a quick skimming through everyone's opinions, and I may be wrong, but not once was anything mentioned about his constant reference to autumn. If, indeed, this song is about witches, the witch trials, the actual book, or spitting at societies standards, where the hell does the season Autumn, that is so constantly mentioned, come into play? |

This is one of the many songs that is 31 seconds short, but is so genious and amazingly written, it should be 31 minutes long. Regardless, this song is incredible, yet, its like a gorgeous woman ready to get busy with you, and after you're all excited and ready to go at it in the most wildest, passionate way, just gets dress and leaves in a matter of seconds. I believe the popular term used nowadays is 'cock tease'? |

I have a basic idea of what this song is about, but I'm sure it would be waayyy too long to type into here. Just like to say that this song is absolutely amazing, as well as, hands-down, one of the best AFI songs ever. But I agree with madcappunk, kiefy, and minigimp on this one. |

Sorry, I, too have to jump all over passionsignite's opinion. Honestly, I have no idea where you can see that kind of meaning in this song. If you are really into AFI, you would recall the specific T-Shirt entitled "East Bay Hardcore" which depicts pentagrams on the front and a huge one on the back. Why, then, would he be implying that God "will come and wash away the non-believers"? This makes absolutely no sense. Anyhow, I agree with Madcappunk and Ankh. I'd like to elaborate on "Break free from instinct that's left us all confined" which I believe means that the "instinct" he is referring to is Christianity in particular (or any other religion for that matter noting their creator as "God"), and that being "confined" is the fact that you must abide by God's rites in order to achieve purity. The little rant he goes off on in the end about how "God is just" is, in my opinion translated as 'How can God be just if he created such a negatively driven species', more in-depth, that kills, hates each other, creates war on each other, so on. |
