Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb Lyrics 22 years ago
I really like the sewing angle, Gray. Pure genius, I tell you. But I have to disagree with hedgehopper. This is one album I would never try to make love to. It would completely ruin it for me, and I've yet to meet a guy who could last for the whole 81 minutes.

The Beatles – Blackbird Lyrics 22 years ago
This song is one of the best ever written, and I was ecstatic to hear Sir Paul perform it at his Back in the U.S. tour. Before the song, he explained that in the 60’s, the Civil Rights Movement in America was getting a lot of press in Britain and generating international sympathy for the African Americans. Paul wrote this for Rosa Parks, a black “bird” making her voice heard and trying to be free. The images behind the band at the concert showed Dr. Martin Luther Kind Jr., Ms. Parks, and several images of protesters clashing with police. It was truly moving.

P.S. I really doubt that this song has anything to do with South America. Sorry, gingersling.

Powderfinger – Up and Down and Back Again Lyrics 23 years ago
It's about losing someone you love slowly, and having to come to terms with it. The feeling of being lost "in the water deep" is helplessness.

Powderfinger – The Day You Come Lyrics 23 years ago
I think its more about trying to be an individual in a world of clones (A single voice complaining; The people’s choice is tested, So ignorance has won). This person has to rise up against those who threaten his or her individuality, be it government, health care, the media, or anything else.

Powderfinger – Lemon Sunrise Lyrics 23 years ago
Though its hard to choose, this is my favorite Powderfinger song. The ocean in the background, Bernard Fanning's smooth voice, and the beat of the song all contribute to a calming mantra-like feeling. Whatever you say.
