lol, let's start a new conversation! Why do the obsessive girls ruin it for the rest of us? Before i saw Dashboard live, i was all for anyone being a fan, no matter who you are. It wasnt the amount of pre teen girls at the show that bothered me, it was the fact that they did not let girls backstage at all, because they were afraid of his obsessive female fans. Thats just retarded. I totally understand from Chris' point of view, and the perspective of his bodyguards and such, but i will forever be confused about this issue. I actually had the connections to go back stage, and i wasnt allowed, because i am a female. understandable, yet sad. So many girls were crying cause they oculdnt see him "one last time" and i wanted to smack them all. This may sound really mean, but anyone who likes Dash because Chris is hot, should be banned from listening to his music. The inage shouldnt matter. |

hmm....i was recently hearing about a bunch of his songs that nonody really hears. APPARENTLY there are like...8 or so songs that he recorded at a friend's house one night, before anyone knew who he was. i know "New Years Project" is supposedly one of them, and it is quite similar to the low qual sound that this song has. Im not too sure about this theory though, so dont take my word for it! chack it out yourself! |

"The first star I see may not be a star. " I don’t think we have glorified this line enough. it is ingenious. I like what some people before said about it, good meanings. I also think it has to do with the fact that you wish on the first start in the sky you see. Maybe his wish didn't come true, because the first start isn’t always a star….open for interpretation. |

no, it really doesnt! i totally see it in a couple lines, but there are also lines that rule it out for sure! Remember though, the songs should be about whatever you think. if you want it to be about suicide, then thats what it is about. Personally, it is nicer to think that it is about overcoming obsticles and changing yourself to be a better person for everyone. |

more likely, i think it is one of those things that only he knows, something that we couldnt possibly ever figure out! like, and isolated situation.
When i first heard it, i thought he was saying "it's not easy to write this" and so it made a lot more sence then..lol.. and sometimes it still sounds like it!!! |

But we have to remember, some of chris's songs are very personal. For exaple, nobody owuld have guessed the true meaning to ender will save us all, because it is too specific (a fight with a friend - their fav book, etc.. read the comments for that song) So what i am saying is that it is impossible to interpret some of his lyrics. I dont think its about suicide, because that doesnt make sence for the whole song. i have to agree with dashchick. it is about starting over, stripping down until you are nothing then rebuilding. "sooner or later this cold, it's gonna break, and our hands will be warm again, but all i want is not to need you now" Meaning, right now things are pretty shitty, but soon they will be okay, and we/I will be alright. |

I honestly think it IS about being nervous before a date. Doesn’t matter if it is a memory or if it is current. If you notice, the whole EP is about one thing…like a storyline…
Song #1 - For you to notice is about him wanting to be noticed by a girl
Song #2 - So impossible - is about when she finally does notice him and he wants to know everything about her. Says he will go to the party with her
Song #3 - Remember to breathe - about him getting ready for the date (the party?)
Song #4 - hands down - How the date went, how good it was, etc.
See the whole EP is like a little story, lol so cute! Short, simple, and perfect!

The deeper meaning in those words? well bum_on_main, to me, he is wishing he was anywhere, with anyone, making out, because he partially wants to get back at her, and he partially wants to be out of the mood that he is in. He wants to be over her, he wants to be anywhere but in his room thinking about where she is. It is quite obvious that he just wants to be over her and with someone else, but he misses her too much to do that.
Don't take my word for it, listen to it for yourself, because part of the whole dashboard ideology is that his lyrics mean whatever you want them to mean, depending on your own experiences. If you don’t get it, them maybe you have had a lack of experience in dealing with what he means, or maybe you just don’t want to get it. Not my place to say who you are or what you've been through, cause we've all dealt with some tough shit. All the more reason not to come down on people for liking dashboard. They like the music because it represents part of them. PS – my life does not revolve around Chris, I listen to other bands too. what!!!! No way… lol

Here's the deal. I went to the Dashboard show last night in toronto, and it was amazing. there were NO "teeny boppers" NO "pimple faced boys" or anything that people are saying. i dont know whats wrong with the rest of the world, but the T.O show was awesome. If you say that Chris has no meaning in his lyrics, then i seriously want to fight you. you must be a retard, because you obviously don't listen. When he says the "making out" line, if you can't find DEEPER meaning in that, them maybe you should just stop listening to it. You don't deserve dashboard. By saying that he has little meaning, and he is trying to get some, you are making yourself look dumb, because you are saying "hi, i don't inderstand these lyrics, therefore you people are all dumb for listening to them" NO it doesnt work that way. |

Rufio is awesome, and this is a killer song. I agree, MTV kinda sucks, because part of loving music is that not everyone knows about it...That it's yours, ya know? It really isnt MTV's fault though, and people get too upset about it. relaaaax. The lyrics arent quite right, the only verse that i KNOW is wrong is

First of all, if you are watching MTV, then you have no right to be complaining about MTV, because you are the one promoting it. If you listen to a band, then you do not have the right to call them sell-outs just because they become popular, because you are the one who made them popular by listening to them. Don't be a walking contradiction. Please don’t stereotype "teeny-boppers" because, you don’t know them. Just because someone wears a brand name, or carries a handbag, doesn't mean that they are who you think they are. It doesn't mean that they don't understand what they are hearing. If you are not in their head, don't talk about them. I totally understand, I am crazy against teenyboppers, but don’t label people because of what they are wearing. You don't know them, and you probably never will, so don't assume that they don’t understand Chris’ music.

The meaning of "Your hair is everywhere, screaming infedelities, taking it's wear" means one of at least four things:
#1: it means that her hair is messy because she cheated on him. messy hair tells him of her infedelities
#2: Her hair is all over his appartment reminding him of what she did
#3: her hair is all over other guy's appartments because she was sleeping with other people.
#4: It not literal its just the idea; take it for what it is.
Personally, i think #2 is the meaning, without a doubt, but that is a debate that will never be put to rest among my friends and i!
