Being signed on Tooth and Nail does not automatically make a band christian. The Juliana Theory were signed on Tooth and Nail for years and they were definitely not a christian band. If you want to see religious images in Waking Ashland's lyrics, then that's fine, but respect others' views, too. The best part about lyrics is that they mean different things to different people. |

I think this is about a marriage gone bad. Everything seems perfect, like the little white house they live in, but they're constantly fighting over the bills and such. Bringing back the sun would bring back the happiness this couple once knew before things went bad. |

I used to think of this song in a negative way, the people watching the person in trouble drown, but making no move to help him. I've done a lot of thinking about this song, and I think what it comes down to is that, the speaker (singer, whoever) doesn't know how to help his "drowning" friend so he just waits on the shore for his friend to come to him to talk. The speaker wants his friend to know that he's there for him, when he's ready. At least, that's what I think.

Is this song available in an acoustic version? I have the full band version on mp3, and I was just wondering what it sounded like. I really like the full band version, though. The drums seem to add something to the song to give it more power and meaning. This is one of my favorite songs. |

I think this song is about missed chances, and that you should take chances or you'll regret it. The "domino effect" would be change set into motion, and maybe this person is the fourteenth domino who refuses to fall down like the rest of the dominos in the chain because they refuse to change. The last line "chances last a finite time and you're running out of time" leads me to believe that my interpretation has some sort of basis. Just my opinion, though. |

I don't agree with Papa Bob Dole at all. I think she's asking him if he's like all the other guys out there, or if he's an original individual. I think that if she was a complete opposite of him, he'd never even go to this party with her. I think he and the girl share the same interests, but they don't know that yet. Just my opinion, though. |

This is the first Saves The Day song I heard, and I instantly fell in love with the band. Words just can't describe the greatness that is this song. Chris is a song writing genius; he does an excellent job of conveying emotions that so many can relate to without being trite. |

This another one of my favorite Dashboard Confessional songs. Heh, I even took my user name from the lyrics of this song because I love it so much. I really the end of this song. The girl realizes that she screwed up and is about to lose the best thing in her life, but the guy is trying to get over her and his hurt, so he ignores her. That's so true in a relationship. I think what I like the most about Chris' songs are their universal appeal. Almost anyone can relate to his songs, and I think that has a lot to do with his success. I don't think I've heard a DC song that I can't relate to. |

I agree with Predator, I take this as something for the person you love. I fell for my best friend, stupid I know, and this song makes me think of him, and how no matter how hard I try, I'm not the one for him. I'm not perfect for him even though I wish I was. In fact, this whole CD reminds me of him and our relationship. As soon as I got it, and listened to all the songs, he was the first person who came to mind. It's not often I find a CD that I can relate to like I can with this one. |

I can really relate to this song sometimes when my best friend and I aren't getting along, like now. For awhile, I thought our friendship was going to end, and I kept thinking about this song, and how, even if things didn't work out now, that we could find each other later in life to catch up on old times. It's so hard to say goodbye to people you love, though, even if you know it's for the best. This song really sums up that emotion, I think. The two may part, but things aren't over yet, and it offers a shard of hope for a reconciliation in the future. Definately one of my favorite Simple Plan songs. |

This reminds me so much of how my best friend must feel when I'm depressed or in a bad mood. I know I treat him exactly like this when I act like that. When I listen to this song, I'm reminded that I shouldn't take my bad mood and anger out on him. This is one of my favorite Dashboard Confessional songs, but they're all great. |
