i love this song, to me its a song about getting sick of being played by your girlfriend and deciding that getting out of it is the best way, and even knowing that she may go against you for more attention but you just don't care anymore as you now realise that ultimately only you are in control of your life. i think this piece should be released as its well capable of going to number 1. the songs a masterpiece, the guitar/piano/acoustic parts are simple but genius. i sometimes see it as the punk worlds bohemian rhapsody. |

not alot of people have heard this song which is a shame as its a wonderful piece. for my it symbolises moving on in your life, and putting an end to the past and facing forward, kinda like a swansong to a relationship that you can't face anymore as you can no longer relate to the person and its like your dating someone else as you are no longer feeling understood. in any compilation cd's i make this song always goes last. |

i dont know about if its about sex, i cant imagine adam duritz writing this about his virginity. i think its more like someone said earlier about how he's only able to see in two colours, which represent seeing the world in pain or in love. i see it as a very simplistic view on life, saying how hes not able to face the full colours/emotions of life and doesn't feel he's mature enough to face his problems yet, hence the pull me out and i am ready parts. play it to your girlfriend on a keyboard, it really sets the mood. |
