i think that just b/c the song is sung by a guy doesn't mean that it has to be the girl being the wrong one here. this acutally fits one of my relationships with a guy (maybe ex)-friend of mine. he led me on and said all of these beautiful things, there were other tensions there more than friends and he somehow found a way to say every perfect thing that my heart wanted to hear. but then he moved and things w/ his girlfried got better and he totally turned on me. he accuses me of caring too much and using my feelings (that i do love him in many ways besides friends) to make him feel bad. but seeing as how he always told me that he felt the same way. i don't see how i'm the criminal here and he's all ok. he blames everything on me (even said that the song "pushit" by tool reminded him of me...check it out, you'll see why it hurt so bad). anyway, my point her was to say that this song can be from anyone's point of view. like in my situation: "You love the way I look at you While taking pleasure in the awful things you put me through You take away if I give in My life, my pride is broken" he always said that he liked the fact that i loved him and that i felt the way i did. and when i offered to back off and make out friendship less intense, he asked me not to. but then he would turn around and treat me like he did...my life, my pride is now broken b/c of him. "You like to think you’re never wrong You want to act like you’re someone" now in retrospect, he likes to think that he was never wrong, that he was the perfect little angel and i was the crazy psycho-girl. that somehow he "is someone" that he is above me and everything that happened. at least, i think that this is how this song fits any gender. |
