Does anyone else see this song as being about HIV/AIDS and dealing with the consequences of unprotected sex? The narrator knew the risks, but didn't think it could happen to him ("I've been wicked / I've been arrogant" ; "And I cannot say that I was not warned or was misled: ; "And I didn’t think I’d catch fire when I held my hand to the flame"). Throughout the song the disease is characterized as a monster that is constantly chasing the narrator, and no matter what he does he won't be able to outrun it. What does everybody else think? Another great song from Bloc Party...they really can do no wrong. |

| one question: is the "it's funny even true love gets troubled by still water / and washed up in the Mississippi River" line a reference to jeff buckley? | |

this is a great song, but there are some lyrics missing. In between the "Louder, louder..." and the "Have heart, my dear" parts is another stanza that goes: "Slower slower We don't have time for that All I want is to find an easier way To get out of our little heads" |

| Stellastarr* – My Coco Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| I love this band. And although I don't think this song is about cocaine, in The Street's song "Fit But You Know It," he refers to coke as "stella." So theoretically, I guess you could refer to these guys as cokestarr*...? Just a thought. | |
