i definately agree with hades. but i dont think this song has so much to do with god as it does deal with shock. when something bad happens, when was that defiant moment that it happened? and also, i love the line "fear memories are all that lie ahead" because its the memories that make you realize how bad everything is now. "once felt so warm, now I'm fucking freezing. I am the once embraced abandoned one" again goes into how good everything was until something fucked it up. and i believe the "I can't believe all that I have foreseen is finally happening" stands for his paranoia getting the best of him. "I raised my eyes up to the light in hopes of finding healing; no relief was mine, I was burnt, by the sun."- this expresses how pointless he feels hoping is. that he once tried to, but it only hurt him more. "I've never felt the nausea of longing to feel nothing, I never wanted to cease to exist,just disappear."- i think this is showing that through all of his pain he feels its just so much easier to not feel anymore, not even be happy because you might feel something worse afterwards. comparisons could ruin him so he's given up on feeling. |
