| I finally bought this CD a few days ago. I downloaded some of the songs off of Limewire, and I really liked them, so I thought, what the fuck? I'll get it. I really really love Swing Swing, and after hearing the rest of them album I can say this band really rocks. And you can compare them to pop punk bands if you want. I love pop punk, but this band has something different to offer. 2 guys made this entire album. How wicked is that? Anyways I have a question. I know one of them is 18, and the other is 21, but who is 18? Tyson or Nick? I've been trying to figure it out, but I can't. So I'm hoping one of you guys will know. I'm going to see them on the 24th of May. I'm so excited!! For those of you who have seen them live, are they really good? | |

| Avril Lavigne sucks!! Before you fans get all defensive, hear me out. I didn't come on here to trash Avril. I hate it when people say bad things about bands that I like, but the difference is that I do my research. I'm not gonna come on here and tell you "she sucks" without giving you any reason as to why. It's practically become a trend now to say that she sucks, maybe more people are doing their research on her, or maybe they are just trying to be cool. Isn't that the way it goes these days anyways. Even the term "sellout" has become a trend. I say screw this whole trend thing. As far as Avril Lavigne goes, I'll explain to you how I feel about her. When I first saw her video for Complicated I knew it wasn't my kind of music, which is fine, that's not why I don't like her. However when I was watching the video I thought "hey this girl's respectable, she plays guitar." I later on heard Avril say that she writes her own music, and I thought "That's also respectable." Then a little later I found out the truth. I found out that she doesn't even play guitar in the song Complicated, so why is she playing guitar in the video? I'll tell you...... because the first image of her we were meant to see was a "rocker girl." And did everyone eat it up? Yes! As sad as it is, that's society for you. Over the past couple of years pop has been selling less and less, so this was the answer: dressing a pop singer like a punk. Avril's attitude is so cocky, you almost believe her when she says her style is her own. But the facts prove otherwise. If you look at Avril's high school yearbook pics (before she dropped out), is she dressed at all like a skater?? No, not at all. I'll admit. people can change, but what are the chances that she changed on her own at the same time that she received a record deal? I say slim to none. Back to the song writing issue. Well not only are her songs not well written, but she doesn't write them herself. She has a team of professional writers on her side. You'd think with a team of pro writers anyone can make a good song, everyone but Avril that is. If her songs are still this badly written, even with those song writers, then can you imagine how horrible they must have been before the writers tried to fix them up? Many people's main defense about her song writing is "Ya, her lyrics aren't great, but she's only 18." That definitely pisses me off. So now because of Avril, 18 year olds in general are considered immature crappy song writers? Andrew McMahon from SoCo is 18 and he's an amazing writer!! Don't think that 18 year olds can't write, there are plenty of yound talented song writers out there, but Avril isn't one of them. Maybe she should have stayed in school. Then there's the ever so popular punk issue. Avril keeps on saying how she never claimed to be punk. That would be fine if it were true, but it's not. She did in fact say that she considered herself pop punk. Also, she wears pins that say "Kiss me I'm punk." So I'm not really buying her punk denial thing. Just as I'm not buying any other false things about her. As for her personality, it's not great either. I could provide you with examples, but I'd like to focus more on the music issues. As for her singing, terrible live!! I could provide you with more reasons Avril sucks, but I just wanted to give you something to think about. Before defending Avril really think about what I'm saying. I know it's too late to rip her millions of dollars from her hands, but we can stop her from making any more money. | |

| Yup yup, everything you guys all said is right. I'm not really adding much new stuff with this, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to say something about this song. As with many of you, it was the first song I'd ever heard by YC as well. I was doing what I normally do when I'm bored, just checking out bands, and as soon as I began playing this song it was great, fucking crazy violin at the beginning. Anyways it's still one of my favs, along with October Nights, Underdog, Pete's Sake, Cigarette, and Powder. The violin just makes Yellowcard so unique, and they don't just have that violin to say they're individuals, they really use it so well in every single song, making each song so catchy, you just wanna jump around, or learn to play the violin. I especially feel this way about Underdog, and October Nights. Even if Yellowcard was a purely instrumental band, had no words at all, they'd still fucken rock, cause most bands just try to have catchy words, but YC has catchy words and catchy instrumental stuff also. They've got the whole package. I'd love to see them live, their violinist does backflips, how cool is that? I love you ppl!!!! and I love YC!!!! | |

| TSL is fucking awesome. This songs just grows and grows on me, every single time I hear it I just like it more and more. But why the hell aren't their more comments about how great this song is. Well if ppl have been missing out on this song I feel sorry for them, everyone should hear it. TSL rocked the stage at warped. And Ken is adorable. How could any girl "up and go" to him? | |

| Holy shit, I fucking hate Puddle of Mud. And the fact that they like Fred Durst makes them suck even more, fucking dreary slow music is shit. Allister is awesome!!!!!! This song rocks. It makes me wish I lived in their hometown too. I gotta say though, Fraggle Rock is the shit, and so is Somewhere Down In Fullerton, and It's Just Me. Fuck, they're all the shit. | Hey, well first of all, this is my first post ever on this site! Yay for me, lol. Anyways yes, I love this song so much, GC just has this way of showing you that you're life could always be worse, so they can always cheer me up. I'm so tempted to download the whole album, but I've only heard this song, Say Anything, Day That I Die, and Lifestyles. The rest will be saved for the big day October 1st. Anyways, basically I have something to say to ppl who hate some of my fav bands like gc, nfg, simple plan, and some others. Well first of all if you think everyone who likes these bands just likes them for their image, or because they're on tv, and hardcore punk bands aren't, well that's not it at all. I liked GC before I had ever seen any pictures or anything of them, and in Canada it's pretty rare to even see GC on tv. I liked Sum 41 before their first video even came out, same with Not By Choice, and Simple Plan. So if you think emo punk fans only like their bands because of their exposure, it's not like that at all, I check out sooooo many unknown bands on the internet that I absolutely love, I just love emo. If you love hardcore stuff, that's fine, I have no problem with it, I don't like it. but I won't check out hardcore punk bands and dis them, so why does anyone have to have problems with bands like GC, Simple Plan, etc? And who cares if Benji dresses all punked out? Ppl can dress however they want to. And I mean he likes bands like Minor Threat, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion, they are his influences, but he doesn't have to play music exactly like that. And really, GC are such nice guys, they always hang out with fans after their shows, I met Joel, so many of you ppl here probably have too, and isn't he a sweetheart? Just cause they get played on MTV, doesn't make their music any less awesome. All I know is that I like what I like, I'm not gonna stop listening to a band cause they're on tv, or popular or whatever, but I also won't care if a band I like is totally unknown, it doesn't matter, it's about the music. If you don't like GC then go comment on songs you do like. And if you do like GC, that's awesome, cause I totally know where you're coming from. This is really long, sorry, I just had to say this. Sorry, I don't like writing comments getting mad at other ppl, but I've read way too many comments dissing gc, and other emo bands. | |
