Interesting...the book "WILD CHILD: life with Jim Morrison"...talks about how "5 to 1" is a reference to a classic russian novel. 5 to 1 is cheating at russian roulette by stacking the odds against yourself. i dunno...thats what the book says, just figured id put in my 2 cents. |

I think it is def. about rape, but i dont think the line "you shouldnt have worn that dress" refers to how society deals with it. I think that last part of the song is from the rapists point of view and says that just as he says "I'll give you something that you wont forget." Just my take on it though. |

I wish people could except bands changing a little more openly. But has anyone noticed that bands usually change from harder music to softer? Just my view...probably wrong, buti figured i would mention that. As far as the song goes, its a good song, not my fav, but by no means bad. |

I believe the song just presents a view on certain people who grow up being trendy and just do whatever is cool at the time without really making their own choices. The person in the song sees this from the outside of it and kind of looks down on it with disdain. |

I think the line, "I've got a case against people who waste all their power as they're spoonfed" pretty much sums up what the song is about. The person has gone through a lot of shit and hates how some more fortunate people waste their good fortune. |
