| a heavy industrial song that has its own complexities aswell as how it is composed in the duration of the obnoxious end. it holds a special place in my own soul for its simple yet lyrical meaning. NIN is one of my favorite bands (musical artists?) and gives me inspiration on my own songs that I've written. as for the actual song, my favorite from this album would either be ruiner, reptile and a warm place, yet closer would be a close fourth, maybe after memorabilia. i depict the song to be a desperate plea for help or some sort of asking. i never watched the music video but i envision somebody that has either lost everything or has it all and still is putting significance into something/someone else/a feeling. in my opinion, being autosexual, i think it has to do with masterbation and though it is a very uncomfortable or unpleasant topic to discuss, i believe it's necessary in everyone's lives. maybe it is the struggle (or not struggle for some others) into not doing it, but this song relishes in that feeling and goes into depth on it's importance. | |
