It’s basically about longing for a perfect moment you can’t hold onto. “Avalon” is this dreamlike, romantic space and the singer is half in it, half outside it. I get the sense that he is chasing connection, feeling it slip through his fingers, and knowing it’s more fantasy than reality. It has this kind of longing, late-night glow, love as an ideal, a destination you can't reach. |
