A few corrections, most of which I know because the moment I saw the Tank Girl movie as a 17-year-old closeted queer girl who was rejected by the shitty punk girls (tho I love punk, and married a punk…), tried hard to be goth, and wished I weren’t as hopelessly nerdy as I actually was, I fell deeply in love. I am a poet by avocation and a playwright by vocation. I was taught that every exact word matters, so I will be correcting exact words because…well, they matter. This word is not that other word, and it’s for good reason. Anyway, that’s just me. You don’t have to sing it exactly the way Ice T wrote it, but documentation is important as well. This song was my gateway drug to hip hop of all kinds…and now it sounds so deliciously old school.
