Katie wrote this song after she'd gone through 3 very traumatic experiences: 1) miscarriage, 2) her spouse left her for another woman by actually leaving the country with said woman, and 3) months later, after healing herself from simultaneously losing a baby & husband, the husband comes, asking to be taken back. THAT is what the song is about: the pain, resolution, and longing for normality again, hoping THIS time he won't rip her heart out. Songs are rarely just songs. This song is a follow-up from the events that inspired Leave Go, which was written about #2 on the list above. |
