Twenty One Pilots – Levitate Lyrics 1 month ago
"Cowards only come through when the hour's late and everyone's asleep," most suicides happen at night.
"Danger in the fabric of this thing I made" could be referring to the story he's telling, but I've always imagined it to be some kind of clothing he's made because he says "fabric." He could mean a bishop's cloak. And notice that Nico is also saying this part.
"My heart is with you hiding but my mind's not made" I think he's talking to the torchbearer. He's hiding from Nico in the bandito camp and he feels afraid, but he hasn't yet decided whether to trust the banditos. Like in City Walls where he's saying it was the same plan for a while but he wasn't sure which side to be on.
"They're circling above" obviously refers to vultures but it could be referring to other artists who contribute to the "culture of overexposure." That's why he's a vulture, but he "feeds on pain," meaning his songs are about depression and not just a bunch of AI generated words.
"Keep me down from the ledges" is him needing someone to protect him from himself.
"The eight" is the bridge of a song and he's talking about how this common verse-chorus song structure suffices, but it's way overused.
Being able to levitate with just a little help he's saying that having your friends to help you can do outstanding things. Like in Paladin Strait where if he just sees his friend on the other side he can swim all 67 miles across without the little kid floaties.
