| Sadly, I lived this. I met this guy when a friend invited me to see his band play. He was the guitarist and we couldn't take our eyes off each other the whole night. When he finished playing he immediately came up to me, introduced himself and it was instant attraction like we knew each forever. He walked me to the car and the night was perfect cloudless starry sky. He locked himself out of car so I had to help him break in. When I went to get a hanger, because I ironically had dond the same thing earlier that week, he noticed my book of love poens from my poetry class (creative writing major) and started reading them to me. It was very cute! Our first night was literally magical yet we spent years not defining what we were. Everything was unspoken. So many times I thought I should let him go but nobody made my heart race or gave me that feeling like he did. It' was heartbreaking and painful but exciting too. I kept thinking the whole time do you love me and can't say it? Do you want to be with someone else? Should I let you leave? I eventually stopped talking to him and tried for years to reach out to me until finally I gave in and now 20 years later we are happy together! This song reminds me of young unrequited love. Finding your soul mate in a time when you don't even know what love is or how to show it or "where to go" with your life. | |
