| Eric Clapton – Cocaine Lyrics | 2 months ago |

I purchased the 45 record of this song and brought it in for our school exercise when I was 13. The teacher got upset. I was the cool kid for pushing boundaries. But I thought the lyrics said: "She dont like cocaine" So to me (until reading this site today 43 years later) I thought the song was about Clapton trying to get his girlfriend on cocaine and she refused to take it. And although I have done lots of drugs in my life... it was never ever the ones like coke (i.e. the addictive ones that just boost ego and hurt your body like meth and opiods and Crack etc...). I went more the route of mushrooms and thc. I think in a small part my incorrect interpretation of this song about a girl who refused to take coke when pushed by her boyfriend was positive influence on that because over the past 4 decades I can count at least a dozen friends who went down (i.e. dead or life destroyed) bc of the harder drugs and so many of my friends have done or do coke and even if they didnt go down, if you take enough (like 2 to 3 times per week) it does inflate the ego and make you do some terrible things even when not high. Plus punishes the body. I never touched it..... partially thanks to Clapton! |

| Led Zeppelin – How Many More Times Lyrics | 2 months ago |
| This is my new favorite Led Zeppelin song. So raw and dark and that bow of JPs is ominous. But after listening to LZ for over 40 years and seeing the music industry in general.....I FEEL like there are so many rip offs from black music that its laced every where.....actually Zeppelin 1 and 2 are drenched with theft. Especially the lyrics. They seem like a mishmash of Plant and Pages fantasies.....Page had the school girl girlfriend and maybe even Plant dabbled too. But its the type of thing old blues singers would brag about....running around and hunting girls. This song is the true spirit of Led Zeppelin....dark.... a bit evil and hammer of the God's decadent....and "inspired" by American black music from the South. And when I say Inspired I mean in the way Elvis was inspired and Early white rappers were inspired. A++++ track that I have on repeat everytime I ride my bike and blast on my speaker. | |
