No one's posted on this song in years and I don't expect replies but I just want to say that this song is the most beautiful thing. Without even getting into the lyrical symbolism, I have an eating disorder and the actual melody, the piano and background music, encapsulate something about that that no other song has ever done for me. I know given my eating disorder this might sound weird, but for me, this song is the feeling of hunger. Hunger like an ache in my bones, hunger for goodness, for hope, for transcendence, for salvation. Hunger to escape pain. Hunger to escape self-hatred. Hunger to escape being human. Hunger for hope. | @[Ath20wj:54633] I'd disagree about the "shitty tracks" thing... in this song Ben tends to use "fuck" very specifically to show how it's used to grab attention and SHOCK and PROVOKE! "You better look out, because I'm gonna say fuck!" Very angsty, like the rockers he's parodying think a curse is the end of the world (Idk why love this so much). Using it just to make the song flow better would detract from the parody. | |
