I have a more pessimist take on this song. I agree with the general consensus about a new love blooming but what sticks out to me is the chorus. " We have no past we won't reach back Keep with me forward all through the night And once we start the meter clicks (Here is where our time together starts which inevitably always runs out) And it goes running all through the night Until it ends there is no end" ( I know the end will come but until then I'll put everything I have into this even though I'll eventually lose you) Be it growing apart or growing old, It's a shame we love what death can touch. |
