| To me this seems like a song about the LA bar scene in the 60's into the 70's. "At night we swim the laughin' sea" is out at the bars getting high or drunk looking for women. "Morning found us calmly unaware" again, emerging from the haze of the previous night. "Where will we be when the summer is gone"? Back to the real world, college or work. As I age maybe aging figures into the meaning as well. Two things can be true. | |
