I think Drain You is about being in a friendship or relationship with someone, but both being bad to the relationship in some sort of way. Here’s the breakdown One baby to another says, "I'm lucky to have met you" (Two people meet and decide to be friends/start a relationship) I don't care what you think unless it is about me (Not caring what kind of person they are outside of how it affects you) It is now my duty to completely drain you (It’s right there) I travel through a tube and end up in your infection (Making the other feel worse, can be either) Chew my meat for you, pass it back and forth (Enjoying each others company) In a passionate kiss, from my mouth to yours, I like you (Getting back on good terms, but not fully solving the problem) With eyes so dilated, I've became your pupil (Only seeing things from one side, even though both can be seen in the wrong) You've taught me everything without a poison apple (Generally bad relationship things) The water is so yellow, I'm a healthy student (Thinking this is healthy) Indebted and so grateful, vacuum out the fluids (Acting that nothings wrong after something good happened, the fluids being the bad things getting ignored) Chew your meat for you Pass it back and forth in a passionate kiss From my mouth to yours Sloppy lips to lips You're my vitamins (You can understand what this means) I like you |

I think this song is about seeing a friend tragically die, whether it’s drugs or mental health issues, and realizing if I don’t solve my problems, I and others could go down that path. Here’s a breakdown. Know me, broken by my master (Being broken by authorities in your life) Teach thee on child of love hereafter (I think this line is in conversation with first line, saying they’ll tell your story to people so they don’t end up down your path) Into the flood again, same old trip it was back then (It’s definitely about drugs, but I can also see this being about mental illness and entering that stage of the cycle again) So I made a big mistake, try to see it once my way (it’s saying I know this is wrong l, but please understand why I’m doing this) Drifting body it’s sole desertion (Death, or a high) Flying not yet quite the notion (Not quite dead, but near that point) Chorus again Am I wrong, have I run too far to get home (Am I going down the same path) Have I gone, left you here alone (Could I have done something to support you through what you were going through) If I would, could you? (If I would get sober/solve my issues, could you do that to? I think this is the person thinking that their friend would’ve said/wanted, so they go on the path of healing.) |

I personally interpret it as being in the cycle of a toxic relationship that can’t escape whether it’s family, school, or work. Here’s my breakdown I felt the hate rise up in me (Contempt for the other person) Kneel down and clear the stone of leaves (Hurt the other person’s ego “stone of leaves” being a weak and easily breakable things if taken literally) I wandered out where you can’t see (Talking to people about the situation behind their back) Inside my shell I wait and bleed (Waiting for the bad part of the cycle to be over) I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time (The end of the cycle) Everything is 3-D blasphemy (But hating that it was real) My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up (Built up anger) This is not the way I pictured me (Wishing this wasn’t how things were) I can't control my shakes! How the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong (Wondering why things are like this) I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this (Holding it together while not solving anything) Is it a dream or a memory? (This line makes it clear that it has happened before, while the narrator isn’t sure if it’s happening again or not) Get outta my head 'cause I don't need this! Why didn't I see this?
