| What's most important to give to our kids is ourselves which includes language, culture, family history, tradition, faith. All the money and material well-being in the world doesn't equal this. The problem has more to do with priorities than anything else. The tragedy of our times are fathers who "don't have in order to give" as is the case of the father in this song who provided only material wealth for his son because that's all he had to give. In the end, the son ends up just as spiritually and culturally impoverished as his father. Only a father can transmit the above mentioned riches to a child and when this is not carried out, the result is a society that has increasingly become dehumanized. | |
