The song is probably about long distance love (driving while I'm closing my eyes) or maybe that decision to commit to the relationship (Baby, what else can I do) To me it is an incredibly accurate description of my relationship with God from my perspective. Take a walk inside my dream: A church, a lonely road All the people come and go and come and go. Those two lines point to the inner life of a person. My mind is the realm of dreams, it's also the place I inhabit and church is where I go to focus on God. People come and go, but God is always there with me. |

This song is about someone looking at a friend or family member who doesn’t trust anyone. That lack of trust has become a prison (you built your refuge turns you captive all the same) to for this person and the prison is a nightmare of loneliness. The onlooker sees the prison of loneliness and is wanting to join this person in their nightmare to help them escape their prison (I’ll be your homing angel). I know, because I was lonely in my nightmare for 40 years of my life. Thankfully God was my homing angel. |

While this song was written to a friend contemplating divorce, I listened to it after my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. At 85 this was a death sentence. Reading these lyrics after the diagnosis but before he’d died makes perfect sense for this alternate situation than the writer intended. I played it on repeat for half an hour bawling my eyes out. Can’t wait to see you again papa! Love, Your second son |

| This song is totally about lucid dreaming. Ever since I was very young I could lucid dream. In my 55 years I’ve literally had thousands of lucid dreams, including a series of dreams over a 20 year span where I learned how to fly and progressed in increasing my ability to fly. After watching the movie Inception I tried to contact my subconscious directly through dreams, and succeeded. My subconscious sent a message to my dreaming conscious self. Just three letters - TCD. And I knew it meant Total Control Dreaming and my subconscious was afraid of letting me have that much control. In another dream (truly horrific nightmare) I was walking in a house I knew was inhabited by a demonic presence. The new owner was pissing off the demonic presence so I tried to save him and his family. I was only able to save his daughter as the house turned into a nightmare of hatred. It was the only time I consciously ended a dream. Usually my dreams are such a frolicking adventure of impossibility, but not that one. I was terrified in the dream so I ended it. | |
