| George Michael – Fastlove Lyrics | 5 months ago |
| This song acknowledges how George Michael dealt with the grief of his first partner, Anselmo Feleppa who died of HIV/AIDS in 1993 ("I miss my baby, oh yeah. I miss my baby, tonight") sung in such an anguished way and he dealt with that grief by endless one night stands over a 3 yr period ("Baby, I ain't Mr Right. But if your looking for fast love, if that's love in your eyes. It's more than enough") Ironically he would meet his next partner, Kenny Goss in 1996, the same year that his album "Older" and one of its hit singles, "Fastlove" came out. While this song, to some, seems like an exultation of having one night stands with no commitment, to me, it's really about dealing with grief, by trying to feel nothing at all but temporary relief. ("Stupid cupid keeps on calling me. And I see loving in his eyes") To be honest, I didn't much care for it when it first came out, but over the years, it's grown on me & now I love it. | |
