Like the previous song of the album, I believe this is angled towards corporate bands that will sell songs of anti-establishment and other political motifs with no real follow through. They will bring you back down to complacency rather than true action. |

“Summer feels like death” summer and sunshine in general is something Dax talks about a lot in Acid Bath’s music. It refers to the conformist society that befalls everyone so long as we live in it.
“In my eyes their dreams an ocean hell” the rulers of our world, the rich neoliberal scum have dreams that in Dax’s eyes are putrid or an ocean hell.
“I understand and don’t care” I don’t care to conform to society’s ways because they are masked in godly ambition but are truly based on the suffering of others.
“Well the skyscrapers look like gravestones from out here” the skyscraper may seem like a marvel of humanity up close or on the surface level but from out here, in the perspective of one who knows, it has been conjured up from the suffering of billions.
“With blood in my cum” Dax has shown in previous lyrics that birth is not the beautiful thing others make it out to be. It is sad to be born into this type of world and to be born is to eventually rely on the blood of others, otherwise being born with blood.
“In my heart the song plays on the insects requiem” the beauty of this world or the beautiful things in this world that are pure, music, etc, will be vast and plentiful only when humanity falls. Might be my favorite lyrics ever. Can’t wait to rock out to Dax 🤘 |
