| Chris Cornell – Preaching The End of The World Lyrics | 6 months ago |
|
The first time I listened to this song, I heard the line, “But we could be together as they blow it all away”, I realized that when he wrote this song, at the age of 24, Chris had no hope of the world changing like so many of us did around that age. Because of depression or the lack of world leaders understanding as to what was needed to actually protect our world, there was and still is a feeling about those in leadership willing to end the world through futility and plain arrogance. And if those people were willing to destroy the world, all the rest of us should, at least, be able to watch it end with a friend. There won’t be any roses or pickets or children, just the end of the world. |
