Slipknot – Get This Lyrics 7 months ago
@[enigma666:53795] Slipknot’s breakthrough wasn’t until the release of the album or Ozzfest. This was already recorded for months at that point.

Slipknot – Get This Lyrics 7 months ago
@[DJ:53794] Gentoo You wrote this nearly 20 years ago, but I’m gonna respond anyways. Anders was already out of the band for about 2 years by the time this was recorded. The “Suck These Nuts” could either be Clown or Paul, as Paul did a decent bit of backing vox during their early stuff

Slipknot – Surfacing Lyrics 7 months ago
This song was written about people who judge and being yourself. The chorus is directed towards people who judge others for being themselves, “FUCK IT ALL, FUCK THIS WORLD, FUCK EVERYTHING THAT YOU STAND FOR!! DON’T BELONG, DON’T EXIST, DON’T GIVE A SHIT, DON’T EVER JUDGE ME!!”

Slipknot – Eyeless Lyrics 7 months ago
This song, according to Corey Taylor, was written about the absence of his father in his life and his experiences being a teenage addict. He also states it was about being forced to enter Alateen and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. The lines in the chorus, “It’s all in your head” refers to how when being treated for his addiction, they had told Corey that it was all in his head. “You can’t see California without Marlon Brando’s eyes” was something yelled out by a homeless person that just stuck.

Slipknot – Diluted Lyrics 7 months ago
This song is Corey Taylor’s own rendition of Interloper (an earlier Slipknot song written by Anders). Up until 1998, this song remained mostly unchanged, with Corey only changing the verses to his white-boy rapping. When Slipknot went out into Indigo Ranch to record the self-titles album, Corey had changed the lyrics and the band evolved the overall structure of the song, resulting in Diluted being born.
This song in its current form was never performed live, due to Corey stating that it’s about a time he doesn’t want to remember.

Slipknot – 742617000027 Lyrics 7 months ago
As 742617000027 put it, the numbers are the barcode on the back of MFKR. This song was used as their live intro during the period they toured for the self-titled album. The band’s use of the “The whole thing I think is sick” sample has predated Corey Taylor’s joining of the band, being used in Slipknot (the earliest rendition of sic). This song being used as the live intro also predates the release of the album, as they first used it at their First Avenue concert (May 3rd, 1999).

Slipknot – Coleslaw Lyrics 7 months ago
@[fab666:53793] There is a rendition of this with Corey singing. Corey also probably performed this live a few times, but there is little to no evidence that he did as there is minimal footage from the period of when he joined up until their 1998 Omaha show

Slipknot – (sic) Lyrics 7 months ago
This song is Corey Taylor’s own rendition of Slipknot (the MFKR song that the band was named after). The meaning of this song is pretty vague, probably written for someone who was a dickhead. Anders’ (Slipknot’s original vocalist) original version of the song was written about factions from a trading card game called Werewolf: The Apocalypse.

Slipknot – Spit It Out Lyrics 7 months ago
This song was about a rivalry between local Iowa radio stations KAZR 103.3 and KKDM 107.5. Apparently people from KAZR were talking shit about the band, and preventing them from getting shows. Slipknot got sick of that shit, and this song was what they had to say about it. Slipknot’s (at the time) manager, Sophia John, later worked at KKDM.
