@[de777:53692] I'm responding twenty years late, sorry about that... But I don't think that the last few lyrics refer to the ending of love, at least not between the narrator and who the narrator is writing about. Rather, I think the entire song is more advice. The song tells this person to get out of their head, to cease their ruthless introspection and just live. To go outside, to breathe the fresh air and experience everything there is that's offered. When it says, "your love is gonna drown" I really believe it's referring to the earlier line "Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole, Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound". Which means that although this unhealthy lifestyle of depression and negative muses may be within the person's comfort zone, eventually the love that they're able to receive won't be possibe to feel anymore. It's not really the loss of love in a breaking up way, In a way that the narrator doesn't love the person they're writing about, but rather the person that's being written about is too depressed and within themselves to feel what they're given. Its a notion, a warning, to let the narrator help save them, to help them turn off the faucet. |
