OK kids, I wasn't going to break this to you. I thought this was a new band but now I see there were comments 17 years ago and nobody sees this as a gay song. First the name is "A-Punk", which means something... Joanna could be his working name as a hustler; referred to in 3rd person because he's not trans, just a gay guy. Second a condom is a ring. Maybe silver ring because it's is Vampire bane and a thousand years because it had been in "his honor" the john's wallet way too long. The young man's wing at Sloan Kettering probably had a lot of AIDS patients with Kaposi's Sarcoma and such. "Turquoise harmonica", blow job by someone with green teeth (See "Deliverance") and look up harmonica in Urban Dictionary. "Drove southward seeking exotica"; do I really need to explain? It ends with half the ring (condom) lying next to him and the other half's "at the bottom of the sea". Because the condom was a thousand years old it broke and heaven knows where "the bottom of the sea" could refer to... No, I'm not gay, I was just an English major... |

| I could take a stab at interpreting this, but then maybe people wouldn't like the song as much and I could be wrong. Here's a starting point; the young man's wing at Sloan Kettering might treat a lot of AIDS patients. | |
