i think that this song is about a suicide attempt, or the moments leading up to one. he mentions 'hate runnung through my veins'(self hatred), 'Will anybody watch me? Is someone gonna stop me? This could be my last mistake' (the thoughts hes thinking about killing himself), and also the line (and title of the song) 'put the gun down, put the gun down' (willing himself to stop). overall, i think its a song about the mental battle that someone who is feeling suicidal goes through. |
