Yellowcard – Breathing Lyrics 5 months ago
Well, I think, all the suggested interpretations of the song are right. At least to me it feels like the relationship of the singer and his partner has been dying since quite some time and they're not as close as they were at the beginning of their relationship - their growing emotional distance now lead to one partner cheating on the other. (Cheating never happens in functioning relationships, it happens, when partners fail to communicate properly, when they grow apart because of different goals or beliefs or when they're continuously hurting each other because of own insecurities and traumata). But because they've lived together for a long time, seeing their partner becoming more and more distant, still hurts (you may feel less for them but that doesn't mean you don't care about them). And that's what's keeping him awake. Maybe through cheating he saw a glimpse of a different (more appealing) future and is now torn between trying to save his relationship (which means a lot of work from both sides) or throwing it all away for something new. When listening to the song I tend to believe that the other person won't put all the necessary effort in working on the relationship which is why it's doomed somehow and the singer doesn't really have a choice (which is maybe also why the cheating happened in the first place).

Silverstein – Smashed Into Pieces Lyrics 9 months ago
I think this song is neither about religious stuff nor about a relationship break-up. To me it's clearly about a kid (could also be an adult) that is mistreated by their parents (father or mother) and sees no other way than to kill themself.

The lines

smash apart what you created
how can i ever stop you from
crushing my soul?
it was, it was yours to begin with

refer to a violent person who shares the same blood (father or mother), because the parents "created" the kid and now they're destroying it with their violence, not only from the outside, but also from the inside (crushing my soul).
