But it can be about anyone who grows up not fitting in or subject to some form of abuse and has the only option to ...get away , run away ... so they can find some peace or find somewhere that they can be accepted or be happy . They keep it to themselves because they cant let them take their dignity and pride , it is all they have left . .. Never cry to them just to yourself .. |

The equipment was from her I imagine and was the final remebrance of her . Once stolen , it was all gone plus her memory ( I think ) |

As a person who has listened to this band for decades . It is one I identify with . The song reflects a child born into a family and a world where he is not accepted or understood . He tries to please every one , live up to others expectations to be just shoved down and disrespected and rejected at each turn. In the end , he learns that it doesnt matter what others think and that he should just look after himself . But " an elephant never forgets " ...He cannot forget or forgive those who wronged him and try as he might he cant get it out of his head . There are many that go through life where their face doesnt fit and they dont belong . It is a struggle which some may find a place or people they can connect with but there are many that dont and maybe never do , only to come to the end of their lives and wonder why were they ever put on this earth , only to feel shunned or at odds with society ? |
