I can only share my own interpretation. Somehow the songs I feel just from listening to them (I’m not a native speaker so initially I don’t even fully understand the lyrics) soon become connected to my life. Here I think it is about being lovesick, being really dependent on the feelings and the person (“dosed” by him/her). The thing is that at some point this love is being taken away, in the song it sounds tragic (death, I think), but for me it’s about any type of separation. For example, I was left by my love who had broken up with me. And at that point you just think “take it away, I never had it anyway” - you feel that you were given a thing (“love”) which you never ever had, and which you think you don’t deserve and then a person takes it away, which makes you think how cruel it is to be deprived of something you never even think you deserve but which had been so precious to you, so that you actually feel deceived and wish you never even had it from the start. That’s what I see in the song. |
