Vessels consistently says "Show me those pretty white jaws Show me where the delicate stops Show me what you've lost And why you're always taking it slow Show me what wounds you've got" I understand this to mean he wants to get more personal with someone most likely a romantic partner. The meaning behind the lyric "And why you're always taking it slow" could mean vessel wants to know this person's burdens and what makes them the way they are. Upon further inspection into he lyrics he's going on and on about this person but they don't seem to be responding to him or is ignoring him. This can be seen when he says "The whites of your eyes burn from across the room" meaning they're looking away from him. Another example; "Are you watching me with eyes of a predator As you move towards the door?" This suggests that this person knows vessel is looking at them and is making sure he watches them leave the room. But vessel is constantly wanting them more and more. He even asks them to "show [him] love". |
