Brian is a former addict, this song seems clearly to be about being high/intoxicated and then getting sober. (Maybe it’s effect on another person as well.) ‘Real’ is when life is real again sober. Lazy eye is when you’re super high me and my ex would get a lazy eye all the time from too much opioids or even alcohol. Lost and loaded is obvious. The “rooms” of AA/NA is a common slang term to anyone in recovery. “The room, the sun and the sky” seems pretty obvious referral to newly sober and noticing life again. Also the most common reply after someone share is “I Relate (to your story)….” |
