This seems to be speaking from the perspective of someone suffering from Monophobia, an irrational fear of being alone. At some point there was a falling out with someone special, but due to living with monophobia, they refuse to accept it: "After tearing me down It's the rain of denial." Its kind of a dark song in my view, both parties are hurting, but the inability to let go is preventing healing and risking more harm, such as stalking.
