Okey I think this song is about how most people live meaningless lives without any ambition or passions. We often just get in the habit of doing something just to do it, because its normal or because everyone lese does it. I think the narraor is like a goverment, society, maybe religion or even friends and family that are telling you to be normal and not out of the ordinary. It reminds me of Nietzsches theory that normal people hold each other and exceptional ones back to feel more secure about themselves(and how religion and government do the same). I think the song is called Nude because the person in question is empty, has nothing on himself/herself. The first line just says that which society tells the person, not to strive for something more. Then we see how the person in question tries to ocupy themselves with something to distract themselves from this emptiness(Paint white, fill up with noise), but none of that helps. The person is on a desperate search for some emotion or thing in their life, bit as soon as they reach the feeling or goal or wathever the pleasure and satisfaction from that is temporary and something is missing again(Now that you foind it... Feel it..). The person is going mad with this cycle of thinking and living (gone of the rails), or at least thats how the narrator (society) sees it. So the conclusion of this society is not to get any hopes of finding deep meaning or getting big, and that the person who thinks about it and tries to be something more will go to hell (either be abandoned by society, friends family, be politicaly persecuted or most obviously this is just religion scaring people into not trying to rebel and have any thoughts of their own with stories about hell). |

I think this song is about a toxic kind of love in which the narrator is obsessed with the person (that person is all they need) because of fear or lack of meaning in their own life. So the song is about limerence and obsession. They are just trying to be with this person, wheter the person cares or not (just wants to share their light, and are trapped in their hot car). The person that they're infatuated with doesn't seem to care. To them the narrator is (or the narrator feels like tgey are) an animal, a moth, they are in the picture but only hoding in the reeds, their "crush" or wathever wouldnt even notice them. There is also no specific reason they chose this person ( i only stick with you bc there are no others), they just attached to the first person they found because of the lack of meaning in their own life. At the end of the song the narrator kind of realises that this type of love is wrong, but also they feel "all right" when theyre able to be with this person (kind of like a temporary escape). |
