@[CrazyMary:52900] no.. I do not believe for a second this song is about that. It's very abstract as are alot of Daxs lyrics, but in general I believe it to be about lost innocence. "The Kitestring pops I'm swallowed whole by the sky" to me is a direct thought of loosing innocence... The Kitestring pops metaphorically speaking to a child loosing their innocence and then being swallowed by the sky is reality slapping you in the face and the smoking of baby dolls, in my opinion is just abstract and open to anyone's interpretation. Yes there is alot of murder, serial killer imagery in Daxs lyrics, especially on Acid Baths first release, but i just dont believe he sat down and wrote a song, an awesome song at that, about brutally killing and/or sexually assaulting a child. No. I don't believe that at all. But if you chose to then that's what you hear when you hear that song and everyone gets something different from it. No one but Dax truly knows. But in my opinion, people put far too much meaning into song lyrics when 9 times out of 10, it's just the writer either rhyming cool shit together and/or just creating a landscape of imagery, sometimes happy, sad, disturbing, horrifying, evil, good, desicrated, pure, sometimes many things at once. Shit try looking at what many Tool fans read into their lyrics. Good grief. And sometimes people are on to something but tend to highly over analyze lyrics. |

@[rabbithowl:52899] I think "The Kitestring pops" as a title and as a lyric both reference innocence being lost then "im swallowed whole by the sky" is reality slapping you in the face after your innocence is lost. And as far as "we smoke the bones of baby dolls" I believe it to be just abstract Dax Riggs lyrics. Many of his lyrics are exactly that. Just abstract and completely open to any listeners interpretation of what it means. No one truly knows but Dax, and I don't see him publishing a book about the meanings of his work. |
