itspat7285 hit the nail on the head It’s about unrequited love, being crushed, but unable to move on, or accept the truth…. that’s why he’s blind and just a believer He’s wasting his life away hoping she’ll return to him — in futility. And in his heart, he knows better, he knows the truth, but he can’t accept it There’s a line in the film Chinatown that I think epitomizes it —“forget it jake, it’s Chinatown” and when Blake says “I’m Chinatown” I think he’s referencing that sentiment — that he’s just broken and can’t be fixed. It’s just futile. There is so much depth here, seamlessly leads into Sea Anemone (the next track) |
