| Dio – Rainbow In The Dark Lyrics | 1 year ago |

This is a curious song. It seems to be addressed to someone and yet it’s also about Dio who’s trapped in this darkness. Read the first part of the poem: When there's lightning, You know, it always bring me down. Cause it's free and I see that it's me, Who's lost and never found. I cry out for magic. I feel it dancing in the light. It was cold, Lost my hold - to the shadows of the night! But here he says: No sign of the morning coming... You've been left on your own, Like a Rainbow in the Dark! A Rainbow in the Dark! Has this person been left behind? With Dio? Do your demons, Do they ever let you go? When you've tried, do they hide, deep inside Is it someone that you know? Who is the person that Dio is responding to that it may be somebody that you know? When he says You and I Are words without a rhyme, he’s referring to the person he’s speaking to and to himself. Strangely, the poem rhymes so how is he lost without a rhyme? You're a picture, You're an image caught in time. We're a lie, You and I, we're words without a rhyme. Can anybody help me with this poem? |

@[iamtheantichrist:52796] This is probably the most interesting take on that song. You were obviously very well read! |

What do you make of the lyrics Now as the river dissolves in sea, So Neptune has claimed another soul. And so with gods and men The sheep remain inside their pen, Until the Shepherd leads his flock away. What soul has Neptune claimed? And who are the gods and men who are in the pen with the sheep? Is the Shepherd the Christ who leads the other gods (lesser gods) and men to some other place? Is this the afterlife, heaven? |

Why hasn’t anyone pointed to the idea in the song that there is an afterlife? Example: Marching to the promised land Where the honey flows and takes you by the hand, Pulls you down on your knees, While you're down a pool appears. The face in the water looks up, And she shakes her head as if to say That it's the last time you'll look like today. [Not looking like today doesn’t necessarily mean aging. Perhaps it points to transformation.] Sail away, away Ripples never come back. Gone to the other side. [ What’s the other side?] |
