I have interpreted this song in a simple way, the song Paint You With My Love is about obsessive love, and you can find that interpretation in the lyric, "So let me paint you with my love", it is the most relevant lyric segment in the song in my opinion, as it has a very direct meaning. If you want to paint someone with your love, that is a very clear sign of obsession. |

In my opinion, Don't Chase the Dead is about not focusing on past events too much. You can see in the song it says "If tonight lasts forever it won't matter if there's no tomorrow" and it also says "Don't chase the dead or they'll end up chasing you". The first quote to the song I put down could be interpreted as that if you stay in your current troubles, you won't make it to the future and be able to move on. The other quote means if you keep focusing and worrying about what happened to you or something you did, they will just end up coming back to haunt you. |
