| It sounds like he went through the dark night of the soul. The stones likely represent a new fear he uncovered, the stage being the experience within consciousness. At the end they go to the bridge and bring a stone since the fear is itself the threads of identity they're tossing away. Burning the page could represent either his process of uncovering the fear through writing or the dissolution of another aspect of his ego that previously defined a chapter of his life. | |
