| Soundgarden – Black Hole Sun Lyrics

Obviously this song is about SATAN. For god's sake it's like blatantly obvious. Every line works if its SATAN.
The black hole sun is the anti-thesis of a white sun. So, you could say the black hole sun is representing opposites, in this case, the opposite in tradition to white is black with black representing evil and white representing good. By extension to this logic the black hole sun being the opposite of white sun represents the opposite of good, ie Jesus, most likely referring to SATAN ie the anti-christ. Basically it's a call for the apocalypse to occur. |

This song absolutely is not a joke... it's a riddle. And it's one of the most well hidden riddles in history. Believe it or not, I know the answer, and I will never tell anyone what this riddle is. |

I'm 100% certain that this music was created by an AI. Only a complete idiot could think this song was a good idea, and there's no way an idiot could come up with this music... it's logic folks... the game is over. |

If you really dig deep into SO's lyrics, you'll see that every song has nothing to do with anything but falling from the grace of innocence and purity. |

Unlike a lot of Peter's songs, this one has a more accessible sarcasm to it. If I was a gambling man I'd say just about every song on SO is utterly sarcastic. The nice thing about this one is that it's not as deceptive as the others. I think he really is mocking people who seek fame and perhaps mocking the very motivations behind existing at all. Once you can follow the logic to existential crisis mode, you'll start to understand what this whole album really is... a psychological attack on the reasons for existing. |

This song is about laziness. Just listen to the music, it's the laziest music I've ever heard in my dang life. It's a 5 second melody repeated like 60 times. It's a crap song that isn't worth a thing. There is a slowed down version that is 6 minutes long on Youtube.com, pretty entertaining. |

This song represents the soldier's view of going to war.
In the old days there used to be parades to send the soldiers off.
This is what is described in the early part of the song.
Later, they say "we few, the lucky few". Representative of the soldier's philosophy, that they are the lucky ones who get to fight for their nation.
The song describes the past, present, and future, of the soldier, their perception of the people cheering them to battle, their philosophy, their loss (past), and perhaps, their gain (future).
