| Very interesting to read all of the interpretations. It helped me formulate my own. I think the last chorus is perhaps the most telling. To me, the song and story has a beginning, middle, and end. The ending seems to indicate that he chose a friend and lost his woman to that friend in the end. She asks him if he’s all right, and he is not. | |
