The Vines – Green Utopia Lyrics 1 year ago
i think this song reflects on the preference of nature as opposed to 'the city'. also i know its a stretch but whilst 'green utopia' talks about the actual natural paradise of the world, it could possibly mean weed? lol maybe...... green green utopiaaaaa.....

The Vines – Darkest Shadow Lyrics 1 year ago
i think the 'darkest shadow' craig's referring to could be the fact that nowadays he tends to keep to himself and lives in the 'stone age' whilst everyone evolves rapidly with new technology. "Now the time has come for me to start again" probably touches on the fact that he hasn't released music in over three years during that period. like many previous songs, 'mary' is mentioned yet again and with the connecting word of 'wanna' i for sure think that craig is talking about marijuana yet again and the effects that the use and abuse of marijuana has on him, eg. "see her high and see her low".

Powderfinger – Skinny Jean Lyrics 1 year ago
this song definitely highlights the 'health-freak' fad of today. that many people will just buy things regardless of the price to uphold their public appearance/image. also i know its obvious but the term/item 'skinny jean' accurately reflects on the need to fit into certain-sized clothing such as skinny jeans which are known for being tight, uncomfortable, and primarily seen on slim people. i love this song so much the melody is epiccccccccc and the meaning (for me) can definitely link to the societal standards of today.
