| In my opinion, it's about unrequited love. The "victim" meets someone who scares her. There's a good reason for her fear, because the beast is so compelling that she falls deeply in love and in vain. She fights it ("I looked for the knife") but she is overcome. The beast doesn't love her back, and she must live in the torture of loving the beast. | |
