Calling someone Archangel isn't a random thing to say. When an Archangel says "I don't want no part of this crazy love" he is obviously not talking to someone of lesser rank. I think he would be talking to God. I think this lyric is a statement from people who hear that God is in control of everything and that God loves them, then they look around at the all the problems in the world and they say "I don't want no part of this crazy love". So, the Archangel files for divorce from God. Sometimes lyrics come from the artist's unconscious, so, Simon himself may have not been aware of this meaning of that lyric. |
