This song is about how in 2005, Pete took a bunch of pills ina best buy parking lot. he called his manager to tell him fob couldn't do the European tour. in part of thephone call pete started slurring his speech,a ND he passed out. his manager called his mom, and when they found him he was clutching a TTTYG copy. and he was listening to Jeff Buckley's cover of hallelujah, hence the title |

Love this song!!!! I can relate to it a lot.. my ex-gf told me something along the lines of "boys like you try too hard to look not quite as desperate" and I guess it always just reminds me of what she told me. and ialso still know how to make her make-up run. and even if she was the bad one in our relationship, she never said sorry with a straight face. so with the lines "boys like you try too hard to look not quite as desperate, I'm hanging on, but I still know how to make your make-up run" & "And when it all goes to hell, will you be able to tell me sorry with a straight face?" I can always relate to this song over heartbreak. but that's just me, I dont know the actual genuine meaning to this song :P |

i thought Patrick wrote this because he was mad at Pete?? Haha. They fought often too during their earlier albums, or just pre-hiatus in general... You can also see it in 'Release The Bats' when Patrick's hitting Pete in the van ;P |

I think this song is about Ryan's dad, who's was an alcoholic, and this was Ryan's way of spilling his emotions out into lyrics. How it talks about hospitals, is from how when Ryan's dad got drunk and ended up in a hospital multiple times, and Ryan would end up going to see him/pick him up. And if you read into the lyrics I think it makes a lot of sense. |

This song is about Chris Gutierrez (Hey Chris), who was formerly in Arma Angelus with Pete. This song was written to thank Chris -- who at one point was their only fan before they got big. But at the end of the day you know where we come from and where we all call home'* It's basically all the lyrics, but yah, this song is just as appreciation song for their fan(s), who was just Chris at one point. |
